About Us

Laundry is an association of artists. Our members and affiliates both maintain their individual freelance practices, coming together under the umbrella of Laundry to develop and deliver collaborative projects, working with different communities, telling local stories.

Our members  and projects utilise a wide range of artistic practices and methodologies – photography, film, visual arts, oral history, performance, writing, digital media - working creatively in community contexts and with a diversity of cultures. (Image right: residency in Gothenburg, 2007)

As experienced practitioners we are motivated to:

Engage with themes that question and explore everyday life through individual and community experience.

Explore the nature of collaborative work, and how we utilise different styles of participatory practice, engaging with new audiences and communities.

Provide a supportive environment to collaborate and experiment, seeking opportunities to developing artistic practice through shared knowledge and experience; through skills exchange, mentoring and practical actions.

Develop projects both locally and internationally.
