Animator, 2006 - 2008
A two-year training programme in partnership with the Institute of Polish Culture at Warsaw University, the Art Institute at Vytautus Magnus University in Kaunas and two arts associations, Katedra Kultury in Warsaw and Spolek Richelieu in Prague.
Our role was to co-ordinate an exchange of skills, experience and knowledge, between the West Midlands and Central and Eastern Europe, between students and practitioners in the field of cultural animation, providing a bridge between university education and independent cultural work.
There was a series of exchanges and practical projects with artists and young animateurs. The project culminated with a final networking event in Warsaw in April 2008, as well as a series of publications: The Wonders of Kaunas: a field guide, Culture Animation NOW!, The Wonders of Warsaw, and CZ/PL: The Theatre After the Reconstruction.
