Back in 2005, filmmaker Geoff Broadway interviewed former workers from Chances Glassworks. In 2019, he is working on a book and short film about the iconic Portland Bill lighthouse in relation to the unique glassworks that existed here in Smethwick – along with Brendan Jackson. Come along to this workshop and view (and listen to) some of the archive and contemporary materials he is collecting for the project, share some of your memories of the glassworks and lighthouses (and see work in progress on a new local heritage map.)

The Heritage Centre is open from 11am-3pm Thursday to Saturdays March through December.
