More mythical creatures of Oldbury.
Barnford Park was presented to the Borough of Oldbury in 1915 by Mr W. A. Albright of Messrs Albright and Wilson, the chemicals manufacturers. The park includes a listed geological site known as ‘Pudding Rock’, a conglomerate rock outcrop belonging to the Enville Formation formed some 300 million years ago. Some local children call it ‘The Blueberry Mountain’. It is believed that strange stone people live there. Are they too made of volcanic dolerite stone?
